Alex Berrio is a grants and capital acquisitions specialist for higher education initiatives and STEM-related projects and organizations.

Alex previously managed business-related activities for Yale University's first USAID-funded project, including coaching and preparing a faculty-led team with a new pitch deck and fundraising materials. Prior to her consultancy, Alex conceptualized and built a "tech for good" initiative focused on co-creating technology with children living with disabilities in Rwanda. She led, coordinated and managed the Assistive Labs team and the Assistive Labs student organization at Yale. The team successfully piloted a prototype in Rwandan inclusive education schools with in-country partners, Handicap International and UNICEF.

Alex began her career in fundraising for nonprofits at Casa Central, Chicago's largest Hispanic-focused organization. While there, she helped lead a team responsible for maintaining and increasing a $17 million budget across 23 community programs.

After completing her Master's program in Education, Gender and International Development at University College London, she coordinated and managed high-level interdisciplinary experts, institutions, and partnerships for literacy projects using innovation and technology in low-access communities around the world. Alex has a B.S. in Public Relations and B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida.
