Anna joined Merchant McIntyre Associates in January 2024 as a Legislative Fellow before returning to the team as a Government Relations Associate. After growing up and going to college in rural, isolated towns, Anna is particularly passionate about bridging the gap between nonprofits and the federal government.
Prior to joining MM, Anna worked in Madrid, Spain at Alizana por a solidaridad, a women's rights nonprofit funded by the European Union. In this role, Anna conducted outreach to donors and coordinated the organization's yearly conference, where she was the only attendee from the United States. Anna also assisted senior staff members to identify and develop policy goals for migrant domestic workers living in Spain.
Anna is inspired by the quote: "The moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends in the direction of justice," which is attributed to Martin Luther King, Jr.
Anna received her bachelor's degree, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Hamilton College with majors in government and Spanish. Her research focuses on the relationship between constituents and the U.S. welfare state.
Outside the office, you can find Anna in Rock Creek Park training for her next marathon, volunteering with Achilles International, or exploring one of DC's independent bookstores.
