Rhobie joined the MM team to help nonprofits receive federal funding that will support their missions and enables them to pour back into their respective communities. With prior experience as a community health worker in South Florida, she worked closely with residents at affordable housing sites and partnered with local organizations—firsthand experiences that showed her the powerful impact access to vital resources can have on individuals and communities.
Before Merchant McIntyre, Rhobie also completed several internships in D.C., including one with the U.S. House of Representatives, where she researched health legislation and recommended bills that aligned with the Congresswoman’s priorities. During her time as a Health Policy Intern with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Rhobie researched the implications of AI in medicine to develop a policy proposal. Her internships, in addition to community-based experiences, deepened Rhobie’s interest in issues that ultimately affect the health and well-being of people.
Rhobie graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration, a minor in English, and a certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. In her spare time, Rhobie enjoys reading, writing, and spending quality time with loved ones.
