Northwest Kansas Technical College (NWKTC) is a leader in career and technical education that maximizes training through progressive technology and facilities, collaborations with industry and other workforce stakeholders, and professional experiences that foster lifelong learning in a diverse global society.
To meet the unmet job demands of local and regional employers, MM helped NWKTC secure $1,183,941 in funding from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to construct and install a chassis dynamometer system and renovate NWKTC’s Kansas Institute of Diesel Technology shop and classrooms. The Institute is using this grant award to furnish the facility with new chassis dynamometer and tractor dynamometer systems and to provide students with usable space for up-to-date instruction, simulation, and training on the latest tools, equipment, and job procedures in both the shop and the classroom.
The project better equips NWKTC’s students for employment in the industrial, heavy equipment, and general diesel repair industries and will enable 300 more students to obtain living-wage jobs in high-demand fields with significant potential for growth.
