Pensacola State College is a public community college that serves 26,000 students in Northwest Florida and southern Alabama. Pensacola State retained Merchant McIntyre to multiply and diversify its internal grants capacity and win major federal dollars for its students, faculty, and campus.
Before partnering with Merchant McIntyre, Pensacola State had already established an impressive track record of securing federal grants. For example, the College is a regular recipient of a highly competitive DoEd TRIO award, the DOJ Campus Program, and numerous other grants at the state and federal levels. Merchant McIntyre leveraged these existing institutional strengths and created a comprehensive federal funding strategy and a detailed grants grid to extend Pensacola State’s reach beyond traditional funding streams.
As a result, Merchant McIntyre helped Pensacola State win significant funding from multiple federal agencies. Our wins for Pensacola State include:
- $2.45 million to support a local small business incubator. (Source: Economic Development Administration)
- $2.25 million in Title III funding to improve student support services. (Source: Department of Education)
- $1.6 million to develop a truck driver training program and facility. (Source: Economic Development Administration)
- $592K to support technical programs in welding and advanced manufacturing. (Source: National Science Foundation)
