David Lindeman provides Merchant McIntyre with more than 20 years of experience in competitive grant research, planning, and proposal writing for nonprofit organizations. David helps to secure funding from federal, state, and local government agencies, private foundations, and multinational organizations. Specifically, he assists clients with developing grant proposals in education, health and human services, economic development, international affairs, the arts, and other fields.
Earlier, David served for nearly 10 years as Senior Director of Development and External Relations at CRDF Global, an international science and education nonprofit organization, where he oversaw the preparation, writing, and production of over $400 million in funding proposals. David also brings a decade of earlier experience as a grantmaker, serving as a Program Officer with the Open Society Foundations and as a Program Director of CRDF Global’s international research programs.
David is an active member of the professional grant writing and fundraising communities, holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Grant Professional Certification (GPC), and APMP Foundation Certification (CF APMP) credentials. He serves as the Co-Editor of the Journal of the Grant Professionals Association and is President of the GPA National Capital Area chapter. David is a graduate of Wesleyan University (B.A.) and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (M.A).
